Right now, it’s the Strawberry Festival in Baguio. There were bands playing, food vendors, and all kinds of entertainment all around the city. The funniest part of the day was getting caught in a huge people-traffic jam in the streets of Baguio. No one could move. It was crazy. There were times I was lifted off my feet by the flood of people. We just had to go with the flow, literally. It was crazy. We were hysterical laughing, and people were laughing at me, dumb American girl, holding my bagged cotton candy over my head like a balloon, trying to keep it from getting crushed. It was funny, and the perfect end of a wonderful day!
We thought this was an okay hotel, until we killed 3 cockroaches tonight. One was climbing the wall beside my bed. One was climbing on Sarah as she wrote in her journal. Yet another was running around by the door until Sarah walloped it. We pulled the beds away from the walls to kill them all. YUK!
Other than the roaches, we had a really good day. We got up about 8 and went for breakfast. We didn’t find a great breakfast but we did run into friends Tim and Dasha and the baby. We all decided to go later to a little village called Tamaw-an Village. We girls went to the market and shopped. We went to a pizza place that Stephanie from Banaue recommended. It was quite good, but the service was really slow. It took nearly 45 minutes and we had just enough time for Erica to get a henna tattoo.
